City of Hazelwood - Onyx Waste Agreement

The City of Hazelwood has contracted with Onyx Waste Services Midwest, Inc. (formerly Superior) to provide trash, recycling, yard waste, bulky and white good pickup services to the residents of the City of Hazelwood.  By City ordinance all one and two family residential households must use the City’s trash hauler.
 
New this year residents may choose to have their trash picked up only once a week instead of twice a week.  As in the past there is a discount rate for head of household over 62 years of age and/or 100 percent disabled head of household.   In addition you may sign up for yard waste in 3-month cycles or purchase stickers to place on biodegradable yard bags.   If you sign up for yard waste in the middle of a billing cycle you will receive and be billed for the remainder of that billing cycle plus the next quarterly billing cycle.

  • Residents are required to take either once or twice a week household trash pickup with once a week recycling.  All other services are optional.
     
  • Any resident that currently has yard waste will continue to receive the yard waste service unless they call Onyx to cancel it.
     
  • To change your service from twice a week (current program) to once a week or to sign up for yard waste or cancel yard waste call the Onyx customer service department at 314/567-1800.
     
  • You will continue to have twice a week service unless you change it.
